While the hotel was 20 blocks from the ocean, it offered a more relaxing atmosphere away from the crowds. The walk to the beach and 3rd Street Promenade was doable and a good way to get exercise for the day. The hotel is on a bus line for those that do not want to walk and of course there were taxis available. The hotel rooms were airy and clean. I particularly liked the imitation wood floor and the shutters on the windows. This gave the room a more coastal feeling.
There are three things that happened that were extraordinary. On the first day I drank two cups of decaf coffee. The next day, without asking, the housekeeper left me two extra decaf coffee pods. Second, I have a cold. At night I used a tissue and left it on the side of the bed. The next day, the housekeeper left an extra box of tissue on the bedside table. Rather than leaving me one little bottle of shampoo, they left me two. I travel for a living. These small acts are truly extraordinary. Please recognize and reward them on my behalf.

Excellent proximity to UCLA Santa Monica medical hospitals and doctors. Clean rooms and very nice staff. No additional fees for parking. Only 30 minutes away from UCLA and their main campus and medical facilities in Westwood, CA
